Merry Christmas!

We've taken a few pictures while getting ready for Christmas. They are all on our picture site, but I wanted to post a few here since most of you probably don't want to sift through everything.

Here is a picture of us after getting Jack's first picture with Santa. This store was famous for their Santaland, but since Macy's took over, the store was remodeled, and it was moved to the basement.

Aunt Tiff and Uncle Russell's Visit

Hi again,
Just a quick update. Wanted to post some picks of Aunt Tiff and Uncle Russell's visit this past week. Jack is doing well and is getting over his cold. He's eating like a champ and is already in 3-6month clothes and size 2 diapers. Maybe we'll have a little football player to help out the Crimson Tide in later years.

Love,
Adam and Britain

Jack's 1st Thanksgiving

Hi everyone,
Happy Thanksgiving!! Grandmother Gail and Papa Lane got to spend time with Jack during his 1st Thanksgiving. They just left on Sunday. Again, it was great to have family in town to help out and visit. We mostly just stayed around the house, watched the Macy's parade and ate too much. Gotta love the holidays!! We did get the Christmas lights up early this year. Again, it was nice to have the extra hands.
Jack finally has passed his growth spurt and is only eating every 3 hours again. It was rough for a while as he wanted to eat constantly. He had his 1st cold this week, but is doing well with it. He's very strong and seems to be fighting it off well. Not much has change except that he is growing so much everyday!! Enjoy the pictures.

Love,
Britain and Adam

Passed out even before dinner.

Cooking our turkey dinner...

Jack is about to have his turkey dinner.

The Proud Grandparents

I'm not sure why he's mad at Bets, at least he's awake.

This is after Thanksgiving. Jack is showing his support to Bets and me for going back to school. GO ZAGS!!!

1 month old

Jack is 1 month old today and still growing... We are not sure how much he weighs but guess somewhere close to 13 lbs? Adam measured him yesterday and he is 23in. He should be, he eats like a little pig.
Grandmother Gail and Papa Lane flew in yesterday for Thanksgiving and will be here until next Sunday. We are so excited about more grandparents. Jack likes the attention and we enjoy the reprieve.
Nothing else really new, Adam is working from home a lot which is nice. Also, Bets is not tired of us yet and is still helping out a bunch.
We will post another blog after Thanksgiving and keep you posted on the events of the week. In the meantime, here are some photos from the past week of our growing boy!

Love,
Adam and Britain

The Christmas Hat is from Aunt Margaret Anne and Uncle Bill.

This onesie says it all..Jack has been going thru a "growth spurt" and if he's not eating, he's screaming. Thank goodness for bottles.

Grandmom's First Visit

Grandmom Nancy flew in last Saturday and left today. We had such a good time while she was here. Of course Jack and I both were spoiled while she was here. She held him while I caught up on my sleep and also helped out around the house. Adam was also able to finally get a little work done. It is such a blessing to have all of our friends and family helping out. We knew this would be a big change in our life, but WOW!

We didn't get out of the house much, but still had a good time just spending time with each other and Jack. I'm sure he loved all the attention from his Grandmom and she loved being able to see him for the first time. Here are some pics from her visit. Enjoy!

Love,
Britain

Such a proud Grandmom!!

She was better at getting him to sleep than me...

Big Yawn!!!

Mom and I out to dinner at Gustav's with Adam and Bets.

Bets was nice enough to hold him at dinner so Adam, mom, and I could eat like adults, but....

She and Jack had too much wine and they both knocked out early!!!:)

2 Weeks Old and So Grown Up!!

Hi everyone,

We had Jack's 2 week Dr's appointment on November 1 and he is now 10lbs 1oz and 22 inches long! We can't believe how much he's grown and how different he already looks. He grows another chin everyday and is sleeping a lot better.

Things are finally getting to be routine around the house and the maternal (and occasional paternal) freak outs are coming less frequently than the last couple of weeks. Adam and I now only check that he is breathing every 5 minutes instead of every 2 minutes. This is the first blog posting that I have made and I want to thank Adam for keeping the blog going for so long while I was "busy" and also for everyone's care and concern. We appreciate the comments and will try to keep up with Mr Jack's growth spurt.

The pictures below are of Jack's Halloween costume and some snapshots of the past few days. He looked so uncomfortable in his chili pepper outfit that I only had the heart to leave him in it a few minutes. Grandmom Nancy flew in today to meet him so I will try and post more photos of the introduction and their time together.

Love,
Britain

Great So Far

So we've been home a few days now - Jack's a week old today - and things are going really well. He is eating and sleeping better than I thought - sometimes even up to 4 whole hours (Amazing how that seems like a long time to sleep now). He's even starting to stay awake long enough to check things out around the house. After dinner tonight, he was wide awake and being good for about an hour. Based on other's experience - that seems great to us. Britain is healing really well and is getting around without much trouble. Of course, one of the reasons that things have been so easy is that Betsy has been around as much as possible to help out between work and school! I can't imagine how much harder this would have been without her help.

Here are a few pictures we've taken since coming home

Jack's First Visitors At Home

He's trying to get some sun in this one. Since he still looks a little yellow, the DR suggested we try to let him get some light so we turned up the heat and let him take a nap by the window.

Finally Home

(Sorry for the lack of updates - I've been trying to catch up with work as well as help Britain get settled)

We finally made it home yesterday. Jack and Britain were discharged without any trouble, except he is still not passing the hearing screening in one ear (must be the one from Britain's side;). They told us it's really common and to bring him back in a couple of weeks to be re-checked.

When we got home, Betsy had decorated the house and cleaned so everything was perfect! That made it really nice for us.

(If you look close, you can see the welcoming party)

After we got in, Britain fed Jack and they both crashed. He got to take a nap in his new crib while mom slept.

I have tons of pictures I'm putting online at cabler.net. Also, I have a crib-cam set up, but still trying to decide how best to send the links out. I'm going to show Britain how to keep this site updated since she's slightly more verbose than I am;)

I made a change to this site so you don't have to register in order to place a comment. All you should have to do is click the word "comment" below each post and type away. I didn't realize that it made you register and I know that's a pain. We very much like reading all the things people had to say so I didn't want to make it hard.
