So we've been home a few days now - Jack's a week old today - and things are going really well. He is eating and sleeping better than I thought - sometimes even up to 4 whole hours (Amazing how that seems like a long time to sleep now). He's even starting to stay awake long enough to check things out around the house. After dinner tonight, he was wide awake and being good for about an hour. Based on other's experience - that seems great to us. Britain is healing really well and is getting around without much trouble. Of course, one of the reasons that things have been so easy is that Betsy has been around as much as possible to help out between work and school! I can't imagine how much harder this would have been without her help.
Here are a few pictures we've taken since coming home

Finally Home
(Sorry for the lack of updates - I've been trying to catch up with work as well as help Britain get settled)
We finally made it home yesterday. Jack and Britain were discharged without any trouble, except he is still not passing the hearing screening in one ear (must be the one from Britain's side;). They told us it's really common and to bring him back in a couple of weeks to be re-checked.
When we got home, Betsy had decorated the house and cleaned so everything was perfect! That made it really nice for us.
I have tons of pictures I'm putting online at cabler.net. Also, I have a crib-cam set up, but still trying to decide how best to send the links out. I'm going to show Britain how to keep this site updated since she's slightly more verbose than I am;)
I made a change to this site so you don't have to register in order to place a comment. All you should have to do is click the word "comment" below each post and type away. I didn't realize that it made you register and I know that's a pain. We very much like reading all the things people had to say so I didn't want to make it hard.

Day 4...
Since I was asked to stop posting so many pictures of myself, I thought I would put up a few more of Britain and Jack. Things are going good today. We are all a little tired, but not as bad as we had expected;) Jack is still eating and sleeping really well. I'll try to put some more video of mom and baby later today.

Finally Awake
Jack finally stayed awake long enough to take this quick video. He's been fairly alert between feedings today.
Still Doing Great
The nurse came in this morning and unhooked Britain from everything. After that, she has been up on her feet for a shower and a walk around the hospital. Amazingly, her appetite has even been great. Jack is also doing good and is eating and sleeping fine.

One More Before Bed
We're all pretty wiped out, but everybody is doing good. I wanted to put up at least one picture before bed - this one with real clothes on;)
2 Minutes Old
Here is he just after being delivered. Don't worry - nothing graphic;) He weighed 8 lb 14 oz and was 21 in long/(tall?).
Maybe a little more than half
So things have sped up a little bit. The nurse just checked Britain again and she is at 9 cm. This is really great since it means that she might not have to be in labor so long. Once she is at 10 cm, they expect around 2 hours of pushing. She is also a lot more comfortable now and is a lot happier that things are progressing.
Half Way There...
The DR checked Britain again this morning and said she is about 5 cm. Based on that - it could be later this afternoon until this is delivered. She didn't really sleep at all last night so she is finally tired enough to try to rest for a little while. The epidural wasn't quite working, but they came in and turned her which apparently makes a lot of difference.

Epidural Time
Britain finally got the epidural. She was in a lot of pain - back and otherwise - and the nurse thought it would be a good time to go for it. It was bad for the 10 minutes or so it took to put it in, but she is much more comfortable and may even try to nap for a little while.
Active Labor
So things were a little rough there for a while, but we finally got some help with the pain (see eyelids above). The nurse just came in and checked and as of 9:15 she charted Britain as being in active labor. Also, we just found out that we will probably be here until Saturday since he likely won't be born until in the morning.
Still Smilin'
The DR came in at 5:50 to break her water (sorry if that's too personal). That's supposed to get things started. Since then, she has had several contractions and they seem to be happening more often. However, he did tell us that first babies can take up to 18-24 hours.
In the Room
They took us right in when we got to the hospital. The nurse is taking all Britain's information and is about to start an IV (I'll try to get a picture of that). Next, they will start the medicine that will hopefully get the labor started.
Leaving for the Hospital
This is just before leaving the house to go to the hospital. We were supposed to go in at 7 this morning, but the hospital didn't call us until 2:45 because they were too busy to see us. Britain was just about to lie down for a nap when we got the call.
