Jack's 1st Thanksgiving

Hi everyone,
Happy Thanksgiving!! Grandmother Gail and Papa Lane got to spend time with Jack during his 1st Thanksgiving. They just left on Sunday. Again, it was great to have family in town to help out and visit. We mostly just stayed around the house, watched the Macy's parade and ate too much. Gotta love the holidays!! We did get the Christmas lights up early this year. Again, it was nice to have the extra hands.
Jack finally has passed his growth spurt and is only eating every 3 hours again. It was rough for a while as he wanted to eat constantly. He had his 1st cold this week, but is doing well with it. He's very strong and seems to be fighting it off well. Not much has change except that he is growing so much everyday!! Enjoy the pictures.

Britain and Adam

Passed out even before dinner.

I'm not sure why he's mad at Bets, at least he's awake.

1 month old

Jack is 1 month old today and still growing... We are not sure how much he weighs but guess somewhere close to 13 lbs? Adam measured him yesterday and he is 23in. He should be, he eats like a little pig.
Grandmother Gail and Papa Lane flew in yesterday for Thanksgiving and will be here until next Sunday. We are so excited about more grandparents. Jack likes the attention and we enjoy the reprieve.
Nothing else really new, Adam is working from home a lot which is nice. Also, Bets is not tired of us yet and is still helping out a bunch.
We will post another blog after Thanksgiving and keep you posted on the events of the week. In the meantime, here are some photos from the past week of our growing boy!

Adam and Britain

The Christmas Hat is from Aunt Margaret Anne and Uncle Bill.

This onesie says it all..Jack has been going thru a "growth spurt" and if he's not eating, he's screaming. Thank goodness for bottles.

Grandmom's First Visit

Grandmom Nancy flew in last Saturday and left today. We had such a good time while she was here. Of course Jack and I both were spoiled while she was here. She held him while I caught up on my sleep and also helped out around the house. Adam was also able to finally get a little work done. It is such a blessing to have all of our friends and family helping out. We knew this would be a big change in our life, but WOW!

We didn't get out of the house much, but still had a good time just spending time with each other and Jack. I'm sure he loved all the attention from his Grandmom and she loved being able to see him for the first time. Here are some pics from her visit. Enjoy!

Britain

Such a proud Grandmom!!

She was better at getting him to sleep than me...

Big Yawn!!!

Mom and I out to dinner at Gustav's with Adam and Bets.

Bets was nice enough to hold him at dinner so Adam, mom, and I could eat like adults, but....

She and Jack had too much wine and they both knocked out early!!!:)

2 Weeks Old and So Grown Up!!

Hi everyone,

We had Jack's 2 week Dr's appointment on November 1 and he is now 10lbs 1oz and 22 inches long! We can't believe how much he's grown and how different he already looks. He grows another chin everyday and is sleeping a lot better.

Things are finally getting to be routine around the house and the maternal (and occasional paternal) freak outs are coming less frequently than the last couple of weeks. Adam and I now only check that he is breathing every 5 minutes instead of every 2 minutes. This is the first blog posting that I have made and I want to thank Adam for keeping the blog going for so long while I was "busy" and also for everyone's care and concern. We appreciate the comments and will try to keep up with Mr Jack's growth spurt.

The pictures below are of Jack's Halloween costume and some snapshots of the past few days. He looked so uncomfortable in his chili pepper outfit that I only had the heart to leave him in it a few minutes. Grandmom Nancy flew in today to meet him so I will try and post more photos of the introduction and their time together.

Britain
